Chapter Eight

One week later

“You cheat!” Harper gave Abel a shove, and he fell over the game, laughing. Since the start of the game, he’d been in control of the spinner, and he’d manipulated the truth so that Harper always ended up in some kind of sexual position. His cock was rock hard, and he laughed as she fell against him.

Wrapping his arms around her, he spun her so that she was on the ground, and he was between her spread thighs.

“You calling me a cheat?”

“It’s what you are.”

“And you love it, babe.” He took possession of her lips, amazed at how far they had come. Just a week ago, when she had entered his room, and he’d almost killed her, which she didn’t know about, their relationship had changed. Harper was open with him. She didn’t cut him out, and now she embraced him.

The time they had together alone in Italy was drawing to a close, and for the first time ever, Abel didn’t want to go home. He didn’t want to go back to his family, or to his way of life. Not only had he enjoyed being away, he liked the story he told Harper. The one where he worked for his father, and nothing bad happened.

He wasn’t the same guy who fucked a whore, or tortured a man before fucking the guy’s wife. Abel the torturer was gone.

“I love it when you kiss me,” she said.

“Is that all you love?”

“No. I love a lot more things, but if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you.”

He gasped. “I’ll take my chances.” Kissing down her neck, he sucked on the pulse, flicking his tongue across the maddening beat. “What else do you like?” He flicked the strap of her dress down her arm.

“Someone might see.”

“No one sees what belongs to me.”

“You control their eyes?” she asked, smiling.

“For you, I control everything.”

He took possession of her lips, thrusting his dick against her. Even in his pants, he was damn happy to be there. Abel had spoken to his father to find out what it was about their connection to their women. His father had told him that it didn’t matter what it was, just being near their woman was enough to satisfy them.

All of his life, Abel had found pleasure with a woman. He’d come apart, and relished bringing a woman to insanity. With Harper, everything was different. Looking back at his life, he saw he was only half-living. There was no better experience in his life. The past two weeks with her, in his bed at his side, had been the best of his thirty-three years. Breaking from the kiss, he moved down her neck, stopping at her pulse once again before heading down.

“Make love to me, Abel.”

He lifted himself up, staring into her brown eyes. The smile on her face gave away so much. “What did you say?”

“I’m ready. I want you to make love to me.”

“What about the annulment?”

“Didn’t you hear me a week ago? There’s not going to be any annulment, or a divorce.
